Lyrics

90 Seconds (NYC 6/8/77)

Before you say that you’d like to get to know me,
Take a moment and look deep into my eyes,
I’m all dressed up with no place to start,

I’m like a puzzle with one too many pieces,
And I just won’t act my age,
I like it kinda cool, and just a little dark,

I spent my whole lifetime,
It keeps on calling me home,
The bright lights of a rock and roll commotion,
Gonna leave a bruise gonna leave a mark,
Gonna get my ninety seconds when I’m gone,

Through a reading of Dr Seuss,
I discovered that there’s magic on the page,
It’s been my pursuit, the very center of my art,

I’m a troubadour I’ve been a survivor,
I can break down I can scream,
I’ve been coming together I’ve been blown apart,

I spent my whole lifetime,
It keeps on calling me home,
The bright lights of a rock and roll commotion,
Gonna leave a bruise gonna leave a mark,
Gonna get my ninety seconds when I’m gone,

A wall of sound cuts through the madness in the air,
It will never be forgotten,
The cannonade it draws the masses to their feet,
And high above the mortals, the guitar screams,

I spent my whole lifetime,
It keeps on calling me home,
The bright lights of a rock and roll commotion,
Gonna leave a bruise gonna leave a mark,
Gonna get my ninety seconds when I’m gone…
