Screenplay

Wide shot exterior,
A city rises from the gloom,
Two lovers on the sidewalk, gentle rain,
Her lips they turn to meet him,
But his heart if full of doom,
I really should be going, he exclaims,

Perhaps another time when I feel a bit more human,
Then I could say the words and feel ‘em in my heart,
But my life’s just a screenplay, and you’re the leading lady,
And it I say I love you I’m just playing a part,

At the middle of the story,
Their destination seems so near,
Have they overcome their obstacles, reached their goal?
He turns and pulls her closer, and whispers in here ear,
We’ve got miles before sundown, we should go,

You’re a special kind of girl of the much I am sure of,
And I’m supposed to say that we’ll never be apart,
But my life’s just a screenplay, and you’re the leading lady,
And if I say I love you I’m just playing a part,

Part three the dragon’s lair,
A place of solitude and fire,
The hero rushes forward broadsword held proudly in his hands,
She thanks him most profusely, and expresses her desire,
Her drops the visor on his helmet, shakes her hand,

Perhaps another time when I feel a bit more human,
Then I could say the words and feel ‘em in my heart,
But my life’s just a screenplay, and you’re the leading lady,
And it I say I love you I’m just playing a part…
